How NARS Pore Refining Primer & Sheer Glow Foundation Changed My FACE

I’ve recently become a fanatic of all things NARS!
I work at Nordstrom and see every single cosmetic line, screaming for my attention, daily. I decided I wanted to try something completely different for my face and the NARS counter won my affection.
WHY NARS?
My love for make-up came at an early age when I used to sneak eyeliner on in 6th grade! I’ve been experimenting and “coloring” my face ever since.
My eyes have always been the most fun part of my 20 minute makeup routine every morning. I never dreaded the foundation process, I just had not found my perfect fit with it. Do you go liquid, powder, mineral, all three? How do you match the perfect concealer? Do you even need concealer?

NARS Pore Refining Primer
Throughout my make-up wearing, sparkly eyes years, I’ve tried so many different foundation looks but NARS Pore Refining Primer & NARS Sheer Glow Foundation changed my face!! I want to scream and tell the world how much I love the combination and how smooth, even, and glowing my face feels, without being cake-y!!
NARS Pro-Prime Pore Refining Primer
These two products are the exact ones I use, but there are many different options and combinations of foundation products with NARS. The oil-free primer literally make me feel like I’m putting milk on my face and sets me up for a beautiful satin finish once I lightly coat my skin with the Sheer Glow foundation.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
I believe my skin is a combo of both oily & dry in certain areas, especially during different weather changes. I’ve never needed a lot of coverage before the wonder of NARS, so I would use bases like Bare Minerals or MAC Studio Fix combined with a cream concealer. Although these products are great, my face did not LOVE them. I found over time that powdered bases made my skin feel more dry by the end of the day and really did not absorb the way I thought they were supposed to.
CONFESSION: I HAVE ALWAYS had a thing AGAINST liquid foundation, it seems silly now but I thought that only people who needed EXTRA coverage should use liquid foundation. I never wanted to “look cake-y” or feel like my face was going to melt off if I got hot, LOL! I humbly say now, I was WRONG.
I know now! I just had never explored the world of sheer vs. super thick liquid foundations!
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (I’m Mont Blanc) literally slapped my little theory in the FACE. I am so obsessed with it now and I am a firm believer in liquid foundation. I actually apply it with my finger tips, I believe the warmth and friction helps me apply the product evenly and smoothly.

My best kept secret with the Sheer Glow is that I do not need a concealer, the foundation is build-able so the blemishes or spots that need extra coverage; I just coat a little thicker.
I la la la LOVE this stuff! I think everyone should try it!! It’ll change your face!

I’ve used NARS Sheer Glow foundation for YEARS – love the stuff! You’re right, it’s super buildable so you can go with a very light touch on most of your face and a wee bit more on areas you need it.
I’m going through a bottle of Makeup Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation – after about 7 years with NARS Sheer Glow, I thought I’d try something new.
I like the MF HD too, but really love the glowy, dewy texture NARS Sheer Glow gives. I think I’ll be returning to it once the MF is gone.

Our Nordstrom doesn’t carry Nars…Sephora doesn’t tell you on their site if they have it in our local store or not…guess I’ll have to stop into our Penneys the next time I find myself in that area of town.
Foundation, especially liquid foundation has to be experienced firsthand, cannot buy it online until I find the right color and formula… so thanks for the review, I wouldn’t have known the brand without it.

I adore NARS blush- serious mood changer for me, no joke! Now I may just have to give the foundation whirl. Thanks Ashley!

I hate foundation. I have never found one that I would use. Sounds like I might have to give NARS a try though!

Took the time to stop into the JC Penney Sephora shop today… and left with sample of both the primer and the foundation. I let Rebecca, the gal on duty match me to their foundations and she selected Mont Blanc so I think it’s apropos that I will be testing out exactly the same products and color you used Ashley. If I end up writing an article I will be sure to link back to your article as the source of inspiration!
Thanks again!
