Ode to Dermalogica…
We were first introduced on a frustrated day back in 2006. I was at my wit’s end dealing with environmentally sensitive skin (my skin reacts negatively to changing temperatures and climates. Eczema, itchy/stingy hives, and breakouts occur . . . I know, gross!). But only after a few days of use, I knew you were the real deal. Your products and my skin make such an amazing combination. Through the good times and bad, you allow me to keep my best “face” forward. This is my Dermalogica skin care review after over 6 years of use.
I have put this relationship to the test many times. Through the chilly and drying winter months . . . a super hormonal and oily pregnancy . . . the constant sun exposure you help me combat . . . you have been my ROCK.
This relationship has definitely had its ups and downs. I have tried to stray many times, because you hurt my bank account so. ($$$!) Experimenting with your cheaper counterparts, who make promises of moisture without being oily and thoroughly cleanse without drying, left me frustrated once more. After so many of these failed suitors, I always find myself crawling reluctantly back to you.
Before walking out the door everyday, I entrust my temperamental skin to 5 of your amazing products. And before bed every night, 2 do the trick. Your Special Cleansing Gel is a magical elixir that, when paired with your Active Moist Moisturizer, my skin glows (these are my morning and night staples). The lightness of your Tinted Ultra Sensitive SunBlock acts as the perfect foundation. On those special days I am in need of more coverage, the Treatment Foundation delivers. To finish off my look, your Total Eye Care with SPF 15 de-puffs and brightens my always-tired “New Mom” eyes.
Although this relationship does require some sacrifices (I definitely have to be more frugal in other aspects of my life to compensate), you complete me Dermalogica. xoxo
