I’m not a big drinker but I loves me a cocktail on occasion.
As I am doing my best to quit sugar I hadn’t decided what would be the best drink to order when out in a social situation but I think I may have found it!
Say hello to my little friend Espresso Martini:
I discovered this little gem at the Workshop Bar in Melbourne.
Initially I was going to order a latte, but I couldn’t resist taking a peek at the cocktail menu and when I saw the Espresso Martini I just had to try it.
You can find many different versions of the recipe on the interwebs but this particular one had:
Espresso Martini Recipe
Espresso Martini Ingredients:
- 1 shot tequila
- 1 shot vodka
- 1/2 shot kahlua
- 1 shot fresh espresso
- splash of sugar syrup
- coffee beans to decorate
At the time I did’t pay close attention to the making of it but I did notice a lot of shaking going on so I’m assuming you add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and, well, shake!
Don’t know if I could drink more than one or two of these on any one occasion but that’s ok. One was definitely enough
Correct me if I’m wrong but without the sugar syrup I’m fairly certain this cocktail would be on the lower end of the ‘laden with sugar’ scale as it doesn’t contain any soft drink or fruit juice.
Not that I’m trying to justify anything…
