I had one of these forever ago – back when I had a “real” job, but a co-worker stole it from my desk it was so cool!
I got another one a few years later but did a “my bad” and left it out in the summer sun for too long and my shrimps were cooked! Hopefully they’re like frogs and didn’t feel it.
Inspired by yesterday’s Twig Terrariums post, these little things are totally self contained – think Pauly Shore in Bio-Dome. You don’t feed them, you don’t change the water – you can’t even open them even if you wanted to.
They grow a little algae from sunlight and the shrimp eat that.
It’s amazing watching your little shrimps swim around!
If you’re too grown for sea monkeys, give an Ecosphere a try. Great gift too for that “person who has everything” syndrome… I just need a bigger desk!
