BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow

BareMinerals announced a brand new eyeshadow formulation this week (BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 4.0) that became available on Thursday ONLY on QVC and at Bare Escentuals stores.

I said on Redomestication’s Facebook that I wasn’t going to buy until the reviews were in. I’ve tried the BareMinerals loose eyeshadows and don’t care too much for them. But, I slipped.

See, I was out returning a couple of items I’d bought that didn’t work out, and I saw the Bare Escentuals store so I popped in to see the BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow compacts and colors in person. And they looked really gorgeous.

So I tried some of the colors and the pigments really did glide on sooo smoothly, and the color combos were right up my alley.

And now I own a quad, and, of course, had to do a BareMinerals READY Eyeshadow review for you!

It’s a wonder I walked out of there with only one. But I usually (like, 99% of the time) wear Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow, so I forced myself to only get one of the BareMinerals READY eyeshadow in case I didn’t end up using a power shadow much.

I chose “The Truth” pallette, I’ve gotten quite a few neutral-brown sweaters for fall and winter lately so I thought I’d get something to match:

This close-up is actually really true to the actual colors in “The Truth”:

BareMinerals READY in The TruthToday I wore it for the first time, using the light color all over from lashline to brow, the taupe in the upper right on the lid and the dark brown on the bottom right around the lashline and outer corners with just a bit in the crease.

I really loved the colors, they did just glide on so nicely and they didn’t drop dust like BareMinerals loose shadow sometimes does, at least in my unskilled hands.

Blending was actually as effortless as they said it would be. I’ve never had such an easy time of blending a powder shadow before (that’s a big part of why I lean towards cream eyeshadows).

I’m not kidding, I love this compact. I love this product.

Now I’m wishing I’d bought the other quad I wanted, “The Afterparty”:

Edit: Thanks to reader Jill for pointing out that they ARE available at Sephora (my favorite!).

I might make another trip to the actual store! The duos have some gorgeous color combinations too, this is “The Inspiration” along with the the other combos you can get in READY shadow duos:

EDITED 2 WEEKS LATER: I just wanted to let you know I *still* love this stuff and am using it daily. The staying power is amazing, when all my other makeup has fallen off this stuff is still going strong. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and now that’s I’ve used it a while I can tell you this is one of, if not the best cake shadow I’ve ever used.

Do you like the new BareMinerals READY shadow as much as me or do you think they missed the mark? Let me know in the comments!
